M-boy's 2nd EEG

It's a good thing I started a blog this year, otherwise, I would have forgotten that Mike and I have been through this twice already in the past five months. Once with M-boy in March, and then with I-girl last month.

Part of me wonders if all of this testing is even necessary (especially the bank account part!), but I just keep thinking that it is better to know, than to always wonder if there are any abnormalities. M-boy had his 2nd EEG on Wednesday. It went really well, and he feel asleep rather quickly. We scheduled it for 1:30 in the afternoon, knowing that he would need a nap. Mike laid down with him, and that helped him fall asleep. There is something about having Daddy lay next to our kids that help them fall asleep. I was relived that he slept. As I looked at the computer screen, with all of the lines that recorded his brainwaves, his was a lot less active that I-girls was last month. I have a feeling that his EEG will be normal again. I-girls is still abnormal, but we are glad she hasn't had a seizure for an entire year now! She has not had a fever during that time either. Every morning, I kiss their foreheads, and when they are cool, it is the best feeling in the world to me. The doctors keep telling us that they will outgrow the seizure activity, since I-girls has mostly been fever related, and M-boys, so far, have all been fever related. That is promising, but it sure does not make witnessing a seizure in one of your children any less scary!

On the 20th, we have his MRI, and then hopefully we won't have to go back to the hospital for a while.

Anyway, we would have never taken photos if we didn't have a blog, so here they are!

M-boy playing with the big kids.

This is the same toy I-girl played with when she had her's last month. It is very entertaining.

This is the post EEG photo. He did not want to wake up! I don't blame him, he was probably in a happy place, and didn't want to be bothered.

They gave him a Teddy Bear afterwards. He loved playing with the tag on it.

Your blogs about the little ones seizures remind me of when my younger sister Amanda use to have them. By the time she was 5 they said that she had outgrown them (and she hasn't had one since) but it was so scary for me as the big sister. My heart and prayers go out to you and your family!! Emily
