San Diego - Day 4
Last Saturday, my sister and I woke up and went running in downtown San Diego. The streets were much more quiet than they had been the night before. We ran down by the harbor and saw the cruise ships and the USS Marshall. It was beautiful.
Then we came back to the hotel and got ready for the day. Our plan was to go to the 10:00 session at the San Diego Temple, but we didn't make it there until 3:00. We ended up going out to eat at the Perry's Breakfast House. It was amazing food. Between the two of us, we ate: 2 pancakes (plate size) a waffle (plate size), eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, and hash browns. It really was a yummy breakfast, and even though we didn't get there until 10:30, there was a line out the door when we arrived there and there was still a line out the door when we left. It was great.
After we left, we drove over to an outdoor swap meet. It was pretty incredible. There were at least 200 vendors, some selling second hand things, and some selling new things. It was a lot of fun. We spent at least two hours there. I found a few things to bring home. Here are some pictures:
After the swap meet, we finally made it to the temple. It has been a while since I had been to an endowment session. I love the feeling of sitting inside of temple, leaving the world behind and taking in the peace that is offered there. It is impossible for the world to offer peace like the temple does. We are so blessed to have so many temples on the earth today.
