EEG Results

Today was ML's follow up appointment with the neurologist. His EEG was normal! The doctor said there is a small chance that he would have an abnormal EEG in the future, and if he has any non-febrile seizures, we will have to have another EEG. IL has had at least 10 seizures, 2 of those being non-febrile. So, we know the chances of him having more seizures is probably pretty high. It's a fever that induces the seizures so we have to be even more careful than we already are about being around anyone who has a fever, and continue to disinfect and sanitize our kids hands constantly. Now that ML has the same febrile seizures, it will just make us more aware of it.
He won't be put on medication because kids generally outgrow febrile seizures by the time they are six. If he does have any seizures without a fever, then they may look into medication, like IL is on.

That's good news. But sometimes it is frustrating to have nothing wrong because you just want it fixed. It must be worrisome to be so afraid to have them get sick. Nursery is bad that way. Good luck and maybe the warmer weather will help!

Scotlyn's Birthday Party

Scotlyn's birthday is this coming Thursday, but because her birthday always falls around General Conference time, we try to have her party the week before conference. She has been counting down the days until her party all week. It was a lot of fun, and was so nice to have her party outside this year. Every year on her birthday, the weather has been cold, until this year. This is a picture of her a couple of days ago, when she decided she was going to build a hot air balloon and fly to Salt Lake. She packed a change of clothes in her backpack and took food with her in the box. She also had a few toys with her, but when she was ready to fly, she realized that there was not room for her to sit in the box. She kept saying to me, "Mom, this is really going to work. I'm going to Salt Lake, I'll be back later". It was too cute. She never did make it to Salt Lake, but she didn't seem too disappointed that she didn't fly. I love how at this age, they lo...
