Snow Days

This is what the kids did while we made the candy on Saturday. I was a little nervous about sending Mason out there. I was afraid he was going to face plant in the snow, and not be able to get up, but he did really well. They were outside for about an hour playing. We realized that Mason does not have any gloves, so we put socks on his hands instead. They worked quite well.




Scotlyn pulled Mason around in the wagon for quite a while. He loved it.


This is Scotlyn after she pulled Mason around. I'm sure it was quite the workout for her.



The kids have had so much fun in the snow. They have played out there pretty much every day this week. On Monday I took them out in the front yard while I shoveled, and apparently, our little incline in our front yard works quite well for a sledding hill. Next time, I'll have to take my camera and get some photos. The girls also made a sledding hill yesterday out of our back steps. They are good at improvising.

Scotlyn's Birthday Party

Scotlyn's birthday is this coming Thursday, but because her birthday always falls around General Conference time, we try to have her party the week before conference. She has been counting down the days until her party all week. It was a lot of fun, and was so nice to have her party outside this year. Every year on her birthday, the weather has been cold, until this year. This is a picture of her a couple of days ago, when she decided she was going to build a hot air balloon and fly to Salt Lake. She packed a change of clothes in her backpack and took food with her in the box. She also had a few toys with her, but when she was ready to fly, she realized that there was not room for her to sit in the box. She kept saying to me, "Mom, this is really going to work. I'm going to Salt Lake, I'll be back later". It was too cute. She never did make it to Salt Lake, but she didn't seem too disappointed that she didn't fly. I love how at this age, they lo...
