Our Saturday Morning Date

This morning, Mike and I went and saw the 9:45 a.m. showing of the new Indiana Jones movie. It was a great show, and we really enjoyed it. My parents watched the kids. SL had a sleepover the night before, so we dropped IL and ML in the morning. The last movie we saw in the theater was National Treasure 2, around Christmas time. We decided that we need to find out what will be coming out this December so we can make a plan for our next movie. We seem to make it to the theater every six months or so. I heard the new Harry Potter movie comes out in November, so that will probably be the next one we will see.

After the movie, we went out to eat at The Olive Garden, which is my favorite restaurant. We were finally using a gift card that we received for Christmas. It was so good, and I always enjoy going there.
Then we went to Costco and renewed our membership. It was so busy. I forgot how busy they get on a Saturday afternoon. We were done and back to pick the kids up by 1:30. It was a fun Saturday morning date, and it was nice to go out in the morning, so we didn't have to worry about getting the kids home and in bed at night. Thanks to my parents for watching the kids for us all morning!

These photos were taken about a month ago. The snow is now all gone, Yeah! I tried to shovel a path through the snow so the kids could get to the playset to play. When Mason saw what I was doing, he immediatley took over shoveling. He shoveled for at least an hour, piling snow into the grey bucket. If the girls even tried to have a turn, he let them know it was his shovel. I'm sure he felt like he was a backhoe, moving dirt. That is his dream job.

Scotlyn's Birthday Party

Scotlyn's birthday is this coming Thursday, but because her birthday always falls around General Conference time, we try to have her party the week before conference. She has been counting down the days until her party all week. It was a lot of fun, and was so nice to have her party outside this year. Every year on her birthday, the weather has been cold, until this year. This is a picture of her a couple of days ago, when she decided she was going to build a hot air balloon and fly to Salt Lake. She packed a change of clothes in her backpack and took food with her in the box. She also had a few toys with her, but when she was ready to fly, she realized that there was not room for her to sit in the box. She kept saying to me, "Mom, this is really going to work. I'm going to Salt Lake, I'll be back later". It was too cute. She never did make it to Salt Lake, but she didn't seem too disappointed that she didn't fly. I love how at this age, they lo...
