What a week this has been.......

What a week this has been. IL started a new seizure medication on Monday. It has given her very extreme mood swings, and she doesn't know quite how to handle it. It also makes her very tired and dizzy. Hopefully her little body will get used to it soon. If she makes it to August of 2009 without having any more seizures, we will be able to take her off her medication at that point.

ML has been really sick this week. Yesterday, he started running a fever, and in the afternoon, he had a seizure. He might be coming down with a cold, the doctor said his throat is red. SL also has a really bad cold. We hope that IL and ML do out grow the seizures, like the doctors keep telling us they will. IL's worse time period was between her first birthday until she was 2 and a half. ML is just entering that period of his life.

Last week, Mike, IL and I had the stomach flu This week, ML and SL are sick. I'm not sure which one is worse! I'm trying so hard to look at the good things. Mike has been able to work from home the past two days, so he was here when ML had his seizure. What a blessing that was.

I feel emotionally drained right now. I know there is not a whole lot we can do at this point about ML's fever, but just to wait it out. I know he will be okay, and it is probably just a virus. It's hard to see him so miserable.

I just keep thinking about the pioneers and how they handled these situations without the medical help that we have today. I'm thankful that we have the help that we do.
Another bright thing, SL couldn't sleep tonight so she got up and watched American Idol with us. I was in the kitchen doing dishes, and when I looked over at her, she was folding the laundry that I had left in the living room. What an amazing little girl. Here she was, not feeling very well herself, folding the laundry. She knew that I was having a rough day, and wanted to help out the best that her little 5 year old body would allow. She is so compassionate, and I'm so grateful to her for that.

That's so sweet of SL. I'm so sorry you're having trouble. My kids have had fevers this week too and mostly just whiny. I'm sorry your family is all sick.
