Blessing in Disguise

Sometimes things happen in our lives that are blessings in disguise. Early this morning, I woke up not feeling very good. I slept off and on until the morning, but felt very tired and wasted by the time morning came. I knew the kids would be up soon, and stayed in bed until SL woke up. I didn't do much today. My dad had the day off and so he came our for about three hours and watched the girls while ML and I took a morning nap. It was so nice of him to spend time out of his day to do that. It felt good to sleep too. I was able to take another afternoon nap while ML took his as well, and the girls watched PBS kids. I sat on the couch most of the day, and watched TV with the kids or read to them. I don't take much time out of a normal day to do that as much as I should, and I enjoyed it so much today. We read book after book (I didn't even say that I needed to go do something else, I let them tell me when they were done), and watched several shows. What a blessing! I feel like I'm so busy during the day, and I don't take enough time out for the kids. And guess what? I was still able to make dinner and clean up the kitchen! I believe sometimes Heavenly Father allows us to have these experiences for a reason, and usually we don't see the positive side of things like this. I'm grateful that the Lord allowed me to have this time with my kids. I know they will be grown up so soon, and I need to take the time, like I did today to play with them.

Wow, why can't I have a day like that? I don't get enough sleep and then I'm grumpy and the kids watch too much tv and I don't get anything done. :) I don't ever feel good about it. Thanks for your positive post!
