A Thrifty Mom

I blogged a while ago about the website "A Thrifty Mom". I love her blog! She has saved me so much money. Mike and I started doing Dave Ramsey's "Total Money Makeover" three weeks ago, and really the only part of our budget with wiggle room is groceries.

Since March, I've slowly decreased our grocery budget by a few dollars every month. I eventually want to get it down more, but I feel like I have a lot of progress over the past few months. The following picture is by far and away the best shopping trip I have ever had. I bought:


6 boxes of cereal
10 boxes of Kraft Mac & Cheese (the good stuff)
6 easy mac cups
and my total out of pocket was $1.09! I was very excited about it.




I do most of my grocery shopping at Albertson's. I find they have the best sale prices. I am really missing the one that was so close to us, but it closed down just over a year ago. It was within walking distance from our house. It's probably a good thing though, because I'm sure I would be there every day!
If are looking to save money on groceries, check out A Thrifty Mom, or another blog I love is "Utah Deal Diva" But, if you are not that into couponing, and have extra, (I'm always looking for the Alberson's double coupons that sometimes are printed in the weekly ad) send them my way! I'm sure I will use them!

That's great Debbie! I think Albertson's has the best sale prices too, and I save on gas by shopping there in MT too. I used to save better, I need to get back into it. I am going to check out those websites!

Scotlyn's Birthday Party

Scotlyn's birthday is this coming Thursday, but because her birthday always falls around General Conference time, we try to have her party the week before conference. She has been counting down the days until her party all week. It was a lot of fun, and was so nice to have her party outside this year. Every year on her birthday, the weather has been cold, until this year. This is a picture of her a couple of days ago, when she decided she was going to build a hot air balloon and fly to Salt Lake. She packed a change of clothes in her backpack and took food with her in the box. She also had a few toys with her, but when she was ready to fly, she realized that there was not room for her to sit in the box. She kept saying to me, "Mom, this is really going to work. I'm going to Salt Lake, I'll be back later". It was too cute. She never did make it to Salt Lake, but she didn't seem too disappointed that she didn't fly. I love how at this age, they lo...
