This is the Place

A couple of weeks ago, my mom called me and said that This is the Place Park had free admission that day. My first thought was "Free, and I did not know about it?" Anyway, I dropped everything (I really did not want to clean the house anyway.) It was sucha a fun day, and I'm so glad we went. They had free Popsicles, ice water, tons of crafts and games for the kids to do. The only money we spent was gas money to get there. They do this every year. We will for sure be going next year!
Also, Mason had his first pony ride. He was a little nervous, but as soon as the pony started moving, he did fine, and loved it. I missed getting a photo of it.

Mason loved this little train. He played in it for at least 30 minutes, probably longer.



As the kids were playing, Scotlyn ran over to me and told me that she just saw her cousin, Annebel. Sure enough, Mike sister, Jessica and her husband were there with their family. It was fun to run into them.

It was so fun to see you! We were surprised to run into you, but then like Nate said, I wasn't surprised to see you there at all. I'm hoping that next year this pregnant mama won't feel like running to a shady tree as soon as I get there. :D

Scotlyn's Birthday Party

Scotlyn's birthday is this coming Thursday, but because her birthday always falls around General Conference time, we try to have her party the week before conference. She has been counting down the days until her party all week. It was a lot of fun, and was so nice to have her party outside this year. Every year on her birthday, the weather has been cold, until this year. This is a picture of her a couple of days ago, when she decided she was going to build a hot air balloon and fly to Salt Lake. She packed a change of clothes in her backpack and took food with her in the box. She also had a few toys with her, but when she was ready to fly, she realized that there was not room for her to sit in the box. She kept saying to me, "Mom, this is really going to work. I'm going to Salt Lake, I'll be back later". It was too cute. She never did make it to Salt Lake, but she didn't seem too disappointed that she didn't fly. I love how at this age, they lo...
