Indoor water fight & the finished paint job

Last week, I decided to let the girls help me clean the wall so that we could get it ready to paint. I gave them a bucket of water, and some cleaning rags, and let them go to it. As I heard their laughter coming from the kitchen, I walked in to see them hitting each other over each others head with their washcloths, and laughing uncontrollably. It was so funny. I didn't even mind that the walls were not getting cleaned. I watched them for quite a while until they noticed me.





We did finish our painting job last Saturday. It looks and feels great. Here are some photos of the finished project:


Notice the spatula on the floor in this picture? My kids don't want to play with their toys, they want to play with kitchen utensils!

Congratulations on your anniversary and your beautiful flowers! How nice. You are such a good mom. I'd love to see you sometime. Let me know when would be a good time. Also, your house looks great and you aren't the only one whose kids like kitchen utinsels. I just bought them their own. :)

Scotlyn's Birthday Party

Scotlyn's birthday is this coming Thursday, but because her birthday always falls around General Conference time, we try to have her party the week before conference. She has been counting down the days until her party all week. It was a lot of fun, and was so nice to have her party outside this year. Every year on her birthday, the weather has been cold, until this year. This is a picture of her a couple of days ago, when she decided she was going to build a hot air balloon and fly to Salt Lake. She packed a change of clothes in her backpack and took food with her in the box. She also had a few toys with her, but when she was ready to fly, she realized that there was not room for her to sit in the box. She kept saying to me, "Mom, this is really going to work. I'm going to Salt Lake, I'll be back later". It was too cute. She never did make it to Salt Lake, but she didn't seem too disappointed that she didn't fly. I love how at this age, they lo...
