Fall Break!

I realized today as I was looking through my past blog posts with my kids, that they LOVED seeing all of the pictures and watching videos from when they were little.  It has inspired me to do better at blogging, and even if I only blog once a week or month, it is still worth it to record our own personal family history so that my kids will have it when they get older.

This past week was Fall Break from school.  I am still trying to adjust to not being on year round school anymore, and to tell you the truth, I kind of miss year round school.  I know I will appreciate traditional when summer comes around, but I really LOVED the breaks during the school year, so it has been really nice to have a couple of days out of school this week.  We also had the opportunity to have cousins over, which is always so much fun!  We went to the pumpkin patch on Friday at J & J Garden Center.  Every year they give hay rides to their pumpkin patch for free, you just have to bring canned food to donate to the food bank.  This is the second year in a row that we have gone.   We always get their about an hour before the hay ride starts.  The day we went, we were the first ones in line, and they started giving hayrides 20 minutes early.  My friend Carley, who just recently moved back to Utah from Oklahoma came with us, we had 9 kids between the two of us.  It was so much fun and the kids had a great time.  The weather was so great too, just perfect for a hayride!

After the hayride, we went in the J & J and found this funny Bigfoot.  The kids loved it!

Friday night, we went and visited my family, and saw baby Maggie!  She is 6 months old and so much fun to play with.  She was giggling so cute!

This is my niece, Penny, holding baby Maggie.
Scotlyn found this costume in my sister-in-laws costume box.  So funny!  My nephew, Calvin, is in the background.
Saturday night was the annual Neighborhood trunk or treat and chili cook-off.  It is always to much fun.   There were so many kids Ivy's age dressed up like a witch.  There were a couple more that came after I took this picture.

Here are the kids after we got back from the church.  They always like getting 2 sets of loot every year.  The costume Mason has on is one I made him for his birthday this year.  He has always loved army and everything to do with it, so that was his birthday party theme.  I decided to enter the costume in the fair and it won best of show!  It came with a $25.00 cash award!  I'm pretty proud of it!

After church today, Mason was two fisting ramen noodles.  This is the last pack we have in the house, and he was making sure every bite counted.
