The House Fairy

About a year ago, I heard about "The House Fairy". http://www.housefairy.org
SL has really caught on recently, and is doing a great job keeping her room clean. I know it is hard for her because she has two younger siblings who do a great job at making messes. Even though she doesn't have to clean up after them, she does, because she loves it when the house fairy leaves her a surprise, and doesn't want her to think that SL didn't put her things away after she is finished playing with them.

I took this picture of her clean room. She woke up in the middle of the night a couple of nights ago to use the bathroom, and as I was putting her back in her bed, she said "I sure hope the house fairy came last night". It's almost like having Santa Clause come to your house more than once a year! It's a lot of fun to us as parents too. I have never seen her room so clean. She has known about the house fairy for a while, but it is just recently that she has really made an effort to clean up her room, and the best part about it is, I don't have to remind her! Thank you House Fairy!

That is awesome! I thought Carlyn was too young, but maybe not. She's younger though. How nice for you!

Scotlyn's Birthday Party

Scotlyn's birthday is this coming Thursday, but because her birthday always falls around General Conference time, we try to have her party the week before conference. She has been counting down the days until her party all week. It was a lot of fun, and was so nice to have her party outside this year. Every year on her birthday, the weather has been cold, until this year. This is a picture of her a couple of days ago, when she decided she was going to build a hot air balloon and fly to Salt Lake. She packed a change of clothes in her backpack and took food with her in the box. She also had a few toys with her, but when she was ready to fly, she realized that there was not room for her to sit in the box. She kept saying to me, "Mom, this is really going to work. I'm going to Salt Lake, I'll be back later". It was too cute. She never did make it to Salt Lake, but she didn't seem too disappointed that she didn't fly. I love how at this age, they lo...
