9 Year Anniversary

Yesterday, Mike and I celebrated our 9 year anniversary together. It causes me to reflect on the past 9 years, and how far we have come. It's hard for me to remember those first three and a half years we were married before we had children. I do remember going to movies a lot with out having to find a baby sitter. Sad to say for me, but I was always worried about spending money on our dates, that I didn't enjoy them as much as I wished I had. Now, going to a movie is a thing that I look forward to with great anticipation. I think the last movie we saw in a theatre was around Christmas time. We saw "National Treasure 2" and I enjoyed every minute of it.

We actually celebrated our anniversary last Saturday. My parents came to our house and watched the kids for about 8 hours. It was so nice. We went to IKEA, which I have been wanting to go to since it opened, but everyone told me to go without your children, so I have been waiting for the perfect moment to do so. It was a fun store, but I have to admit, I am in no rush to go back there. It was overwhelming to me to be in such a big store. We found a few kitchen gadgets that I was really excited about. It was worth the trip. After that we went out to eat at Market Street Grill. It was so yummy and it was the first time in my life that I ate real crab meat. We both ate the crab and avocado sandwich. Then we went to a Broadway show at Kingsbury Hall. It was called "The 25th Annual Putnam Valley Spelling Bee". Mike's boss had given him two tickets. There was some content that was offensive, and really didn't need to be in the show. But all in all the show was very funny. The funniest part was when a member of the audience who had been invited to participate in the spelling bee (Before the show, they had a table where anyone who was there could sign up to be a part of the bee) spelled a word right, when they anticipated that he would spell it wrong, and thus be eliminated from the bee. It caught everyone off guard, and the cast started laughing. They called him back up again, and gave him a harder word, which he spelled wrong from the first letter, and they immediately eliminated him.

After the show, we walked into a bad snowstorm. When we went into the show, it was 60 degrees. 2 hours later, it had dropped to 30. After that, we headed home. It was really a fun day. Of course, the kids had a wonderful day with their grandparents.

I feel like I am a completely different person than I was when I married Mike. He has made me a better person, and I have learned so much from him. I am so grateful for him, and I can't imagine living life with anyone else but him. He is such a great dad to our three kids, and I know that everything he does, he does for us.

I remember you before you had kids! Remember that apartment. Sorry for my stupid dating stories. :) Congratulations and it sounds fun. I'll watch your kids when you go to a movie if you are coming to SL. Happily too :)
