New Year Etc....

I have a bunch of miscellaneous pictures that I have not posted, so here they are. While my sister was here, we took the kids sledding at the park by our house. It's the perfect sledding hill for our kids. It's not too big, but big enough that they have a lot of fun on it. They had such a fun time, and did not want to come home.


When we first got to the park, Ivy hopped on the sled and went down by herself. Then Scotlyn and her cousin brought the sled back up. As soon as they put it down on the ground, Ivy plopped down on her belly, and went down again by herself. It was so funny! I guess we will have to get more than one sled next time.




This is how the kids and I spent New Years.




On New Year's morning, we made Scotch Eggs. They eat them all the time in Scotland. It's a boiled egg wrapped in sausage and covered in bread crumbs. They were really yummy.



This was taken New Year's Day during our movie watching marathon.




That night, all of the kids were reading books at the same time. I guess they had had enough movies for the day.




Mike made yummy pizza last week. It looked so pretty I had to take a photo!


Here is a photo of us planting the starts for our garden. We planted broccoli, cauliflower, and three different types of lettuce. As of today, there are several plants that have started to come up already!

I am amazed at Mike's garden starts lamp. It looks awesome! I want to see it in person. You're going to have to keep us posted on the plant progress. Not to put to much on your plate (:D) but... will you share some of your tips and tricks that you've learned along the way with SFG? I've purchased the book and we're going to read it before we get our boxes this Spring... but I'm sort of overwhelmed. Eeek.

Scotlyn's Birthday Party

Scotlyn's birthday is this coming Thursday, but because her birthday always falls around General Conference time, we try to have her party the week before conference. She has been counting down the days until her party all week. It was a lot of fun, and was so nice to have her party outside this year. Every year on her birthday, the weather has been cold, until this year. This is a picture of her a couple of days ago, when she decided she was going to build a hot air balloon and fly to Salt Lake. She packed a change of clothes in her backpack and took food with her in the box. She also had a few toys with her, but when she was ready to fly, she realized that there was not room for her to sit in the box. She kept saying to me, "Mom, this is really going to work. I'm going to Salt Lake, I'll be back later". It was too cute. She never did make it to Salt Lake, but she didn't seem too disappointed that she didn't fly. I love how at this age, they lo...
