Ivy
I'm writing the following so that I can keep a history of our kids seizure activity. Someday we might need to look back and remember these things.
Our little Ivy had another seizure two days ago. Her fever spiked up to 105. We took her immediately to the ER. Mike met me there. They could not find anything wrong with her, other than she just has a virus. She has had a cold, and Scotlyn had a cold along with a fever about a week ago. We have been to the ER two times now with both Ivy and Mason. Scotlyn is lucky, she has never had to go. It's so hard to know what to do in this situation. Part of you says to just wait it out, that the ER won't be able to do anything for them that a doctor visit wouldn't, but the other part panics and hops in the car and before you know it, you are there.
She had been running a fever the day before, with no seizure activity, but on Tuesday morning, her body could not take it anymore. I feel really bad too because I was not there when it happened. I was in our bedroom folding laundry when I heard her coughing. I went out to check on her. She was laying on the couch watching TV, and was just on the tail end of the seizure. She had thrown up, which she will do when she has a seizure. If I had not walked in when I did, I may have thought she had the stomach flu. She fell immediately to sleep. It makes me so sad. It's so hard to see her go through this. She was miserable to say the least.
She is much, much better today, and luckily, Mason has not come down with anything. THANK GOODNESS!
In spite of it all, I have felt the love of the Lord so strongly in my life. He has let me know that He is aware of us and what we struggle with as a family. For that I am truly grateful. I don't know where I would be without it.
