Christmas
What a fun Holiday season we have had. My sister and her family were here for a week and a half. Her daughter is 15 months older than Scotlyn, and Ivy just adores Sierra, so they had so much fun playing together. It was so much fun to spend time with my sister too, even though I had just been with her a month ago in San Diego. She teaches spinning in Palm Springs, so she came to a class with me, which was so much fun. She showed me how to use my new spin shoes that I got for Christmas.
Ivy has asked me every day since they left if Sierra is coming over to play. It's hard for her to understand that Sierra is back home now, and she just can't come and play every day like she did during the holidays.
Mike had most of last week off of work, and now has the next two days off, so we have a couple more days to play. Scotlyn goes back to school tomorrow. I can't believe she was off track for 5 weeks, it went so fast. She is so ready to get back to school. For the last week, she has been asking me how many more days until she gets to go back to school.
During the break, we have done a lot of video watching. We joined the Disney movie club and were able to pick up 6 DVD's for $33.00. Of course, you have to buy 5 more DVD's over the next two years, but we figured that it would be worth it to pick those up at such a great price.
Mike thinks he's going to go crazy if he has to watch High School Musical 1 or 2 again. I think we have watched them at least three times each since Christmas. I actually really like the shows. I love the music, and I can't wait until the 3rd one comes out on DVD.
On New Year's Eve, Mike made Japanese food and then we let the kids sleep in the living room and watch movies. On New Year's Day, we watched movies all day long. The kids loved it.
The movies we watched this year were:
HSM 1 & 2
Toy Story 1 & 2
A Bug's Life
Kung Fu Panda
It was nice just to keep putting movies on and not worrying about the kids watching too much TV. For one day a year, it's great to relax and enjoy it.
I'm sad to see Christmas come to an end, but I'm so excited because Mike and I are going to do vegetable starts in our basement this year. If they work out, we might see if we can sell a few in the process. Mike built a fixture with a grow light hanging above it. In just over 8 weeks, you can plant the cold vegetable crops outside, as long as the snow is gone. Yeah! I'm so excited!
Here are some random photos from Christmas. This is Mike's dad tickling Mason:
This is Mike's foot and Mason's foot. I thought it was funny when Mason was putting his foot next to his Daddy's.
