Scotlyn's 7th Birthday Party

Scotlyn turned 7 a couple of weeks ago. She had a lot of fun at her party. She wanted brownies instead of cake for her birthday. My mom gave me the perfect brownie pan for my birthday (which by the way, is much much smaller than it looks on TV. Our family had a good laugh about this because we thought it would be as big as a 9X13 inch pan, but not so. It does make perfect brownies though and I really like it!) so it was a good time to try it out.

We have had a lot of fun this summer watching movies outside. It was warm enough (just barley though) to watch a movie outside for her birthday. She made tickets for all of the kids to "buy" popcorn and candy for the movie. They watched "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown).



Every time Scotlyn would open a present, Ivy would say, "I'm going to have so much fun playing with that". It was so funny!

I can't believe she is 7...Carson was SO thrilled about the movie outside and was SO excited to finally see how that would all work!

These photos were taken about a month ago. The snow is now all gone, Yeah! I tried to shovel a path through the snow so the kids could get to the playset to play. When Mason saw what I was doing, he immediatley took over shoveling. He shoveled for at least an hour, piling snow into the grey bucket. If the girls even tried to have a turn, he let them know it was his shovel. I'm sure he felt like he was a backhoe, moving dirt. That is his dream job.

Scotlyn's Birthday Party

Scotlyn's birthday is this coming Thursday, but because her birthday always falls around General Conference time, we try to have her party the week before conference. She has been counting down the days until her party all week. It was a lot of fun, and was so nice to have her party outside this year. Every year on her birthday, the weather has been cold, until this year. This is a picture of her a couple of days ago, when she decided she was going to build a hot air balloon and fly to Salt Lake. She packed a change of clothes in her backpack and took food with her in the box. She also had a few toys with her, but when she was ready to fly, she realized that there was not room for her to sit in the box. She kept saying to me, "Mom, this is really going to work. I'm going to Salt Lake, I'll be back later". It was too cute. She never did make it to Salt Lake, but she didn't seem too disappointed that she didn't fly. I love how at this age, they lo...
