Labor Day Weekend

Mike's family had a family reunion over Labor Day Weekend. We were going to go camping, but the weather forecast had rain, so we ended up staying at Mike's brothers house over the weekend. It was still a lot of fun. I love Mike's family and love hanging out with them. This is Mike's dad with our kids on the 4-wheeler. The kids loved riding with Grandpa on it, especially Mason, he has a fascination with anything that has a motor in it.
On Saturday night, Mike made homemade hamburger buns and homemade root beer for dinner.

The next day was Sunday and we went to church with Mike's grandma. Then we went to Mike's sister's house where we spent the rest of the day. There was a pinata for the kids. When Ivy went up to hit the pinata, she said "This pinata has my name on it". She is so funny like that.

Mike's sister has a trampoline in their backyard, that my kids were on just about every single moment we were there.

On Sunday night, we had smores and we took our projector and watched a movie outside. On Monday morning we came home. It was a fun weekend. Scotlyn told me the other day that she wished we lived closer to her cousins. They have a lot of fun together.

How fun! Lukas wishes he lived closer to his cousins again too. That was the hardest part about moving here.

Scotlyn's Birthday Party

Scotlyn's birthday is this coming Thursday, but because her birthday always falls around General Conference time, we try to have her party the week before conference. She has been counting down the days until her party all week. It was a lot of fun, and was so nice to have her party outside this year. Every year on her birthday, the weather has been cold, until this year. This is a picture of her a couple of days ago, when she decided she was going to build a hot air balloon and fly to Salt Lake. She packed a change of clothes in her backpack and took food with her in the box. She also had a few toys with her, but when she was ready to fly, she realized that there was not room for her to sit in the box. She kept saying to me, "Mom, this is really going to work. I'm going to Salt Lake, I'll be back later". It was too cute. She never did make it to Salt Lake, but she didn't seem too disappointed that she didn't fly. I love how at this age, they lo...
