Our Potty Trained Mason

Yeah! All of our kids are out of diapers! (at least during the day) I originally was not planning on potty training Mason until he was at least 3, but for about a month, he wanted to sit on the potty all of the time. So, after the day after Labor day, I started with him. He did fantastic! It took about 5 days, but after that he really got it! I'm so happy and proud of him. He sometimes will still get distracted and forget, but I know what signs to look for, and take him as soon as I notice that he needs to go.

This is a picture of Mike and Mason playing the 3 questions game where Mike asks him two questions that he knows the answer to and the last one, he asks him a question that he does not know the answer to, and if he misses it, Mike gets to tickle him. He has the kids hold on to his ears, and they have not quite caught onto the fact that they are in perfect tickle position for Mike. I love the look on Mike's face. Mason really does get his little fingers in there, and it does kind of hurt. I have played the game with him before and he hurt my ears!

Scotlyn's Birthday Party

Scotlyn's birthday is this coming Thursday, but because her birthday always falls around General Conference time, we try to have her party the week before conference. She has been counting down the days until her party all week. It was a lot of fun, and was so nice to have her party outside this year. Every year on her birthday, the weather has been cold, until this year. This is a picture of her a couple of days ago, when she decided she was going to build a hot air balloon and fly to Salt Lake. She packed a change of clothes in her backpack and took food with her in the box. She also had a few toys with her, but when she was ready to fly, she realized that there was not room for her to sit in the box. She kept saying to me, "Mom, this is really going to work. I'm going to Salt Lake, I'll be back later". It was too cute. She never did make it to Salt Lake, but she didn't seem too disappointed that she didn't fly. I love how at this age, they lo...
