The Last Jar of Peaches

On April 18th, we opened our last jar of peaches. It was a sad day! We have loved eating these peaches this past season, and look forward to September when we can fill our shelves with them again. Maybe this year we should do 3 bushel!
Mason could eat a whole quart of peaches by himself. He loves them. Ivy loves them too, Scotlyn is not hooked, yet. She will eat them, but not like her brother and sister do.

Mmmmm! I love how pretty the Lemon Elberta's look in the jar. Our girls will eat peaches and cottage cheese for breakfast every morning. I can't wait to bottle them again this year.

PS... We have 5 cases of peaches from the cannery. Do you want a few cases? We got them about 18 months ago. They're not bad but they are our "ran out of the good stuff" back up supply. But we can spare a few boxes if you want.

These photos were taken about a month ago. The snow is now all gone, Yeah! I tried to shovel a path through the snow so the kids could get to the playset to play. When Mason saw what I was doing, he immediatley took over shoveling. He shoveled for at least an hour, piling snow into the grey bucket. If the girls even tried to have a turn, he let them know it was his shovel. I'm sure he felt like he was a backhoe, moving dirt. That is his dream job.

Scotlyn's Birthday Party

Scotlyn's birthday is this coming Thursday, but because her birthday always falls around General Conference time, we try to have her party the week before conference. She has been counting down the days until her party all week. It was a lot of fun, and was so nice to have her party outside this year. Every year on her birthday, the weather has been cold, until this year. This is a picture of her a couple of days ago, when she decided she was going to build a hot air balloon and fly to Salt Lake. She packed a change of clothes in her backpack and took food with her in the box. She also had a few toys with her, but when she was ready to fly, she realized that there was not room for her to sit in the box. She kept saying to me, "Mom, this is really going to work. I'm going to Salt Lake, I'll be back later". It was too cute. She never did make it to Salt Lake, but she didn't seem too disappointed that she didn't fly. I love how at this age, they lo...
