Mindfulness Class
In September ( on my birthday, actually, the 29th) I started a Mindfulness class at the Davis Mindfulness center. I have seen this class advertised many, many times over the past several years. They always advertise it through the school district. It is usually $250 to take, so I have never signed up for it. But, this year, probably due to COVID-19, it was free. I signed up to take it with my new friend, Becca Williams who I met this summer after her family moved into our ward. I have really gotten to know Becca well as we have ben walking together a lot, at least we were until the weather got colder, and COVID started going around like crazy. It was such an amazing class. I loved it so much. I learned about living more in the moment, and enjoying life more. What an amazing journey this class was, and will continue to be in my life. We had our last class this past Tuesday. We met every Tuesday morning from 9:30-12:00. We also had assignments every week to practice mindfulness for at least 45 minutes - 1 hour every day. I am now reading the book called "Full Catastrophe Living". There is always so much to learn about being mindful. Unless we practice being mindful, it is so easy to go through life without really ever living in the moment, and just either living in the past or the present. Even though our brains naturally want to go to the past or present, mindfulness is a way of helping us to appreciate and live in the moment.
