Halloween 2020

Halloween 2020!   Here are some pictures of the kids carving pumpkins. Mason did "AJR" in his, which is one of his favorite bands.  Scotlyn did Perry the Platupus from Phinias and Ferb, and Ivy did 2 characters from an Anime that she likes called "Demon Slayer".  She won a coloring contest and got a dozen doughnuts and a pumpkin, so she had 2 pumpkins.  Ivy is super creative and did such a good job painting her pumpkins.  

It really is crazy how quick kids grow up.  I was looking back at old blog posts, and I am so glad I kept a good blog from when they were little.  It seems like when social media became big, I stopped blogging.  I decided I wanted to get back into it, as I love looking back and reading about what we were doing.  Scotlyn is now 18, Ivy is 15, and Mason is 13.  

Anyway, it was a good Halloween.  About a week ago I started feeling sick, so I went and got tested for covid 19 which came back negative on Halloween morning. I was super grateful for that, but because of everything going on, we decided not to do hotdogs (which Mike has LOVED doing for the past few years) or candy this year. We turned off our porch light for the first time ever.   Mike was starting to feel sick, so we decided it was for the best.  Our kids on the other hand have been totally fine.   Ivy, and her friend Jessica went trick or treating, and Scotlyn went along with them just for the walk. Mason stayed home with Mike and I and watched Alone season 7 with us, while he played Minecraft. It was a pretty uneventful evening We missed seeing everyone on Halloween, but life is good and we are truly blessed!

Scotlyn's Birthday Party

Scotlyn's birthday is this coming Thursday, but because her birthday always falls around General Conference time, we try to have her party the week before conference. She has been counting down the days until her party all week. It was a lot of fun, and was so nice to have her party outside this year. Every year on her birthday, the weather has been cold, until this year. This is a picture of her a couple of days ago, when she decided she was going to build a hot air balloon and fly to Salt Lake. She packed a change of clothes in her backpack and took food with her in the box. She also had a few toys with her, but when she was ready to fly, she realized that there was not room for her to sit in the box. She kept saying to me, "Mom, this is really going to work. I'm going to Salt Lake, I'll be back later". It was too cute. She never did make it to Salt Lake, but she didn't seem too disappointed that she didn't fly. I love how at this age, they lo...
