Christmas Day 2010

We celebrated the 2nd year that we have not gone into debt for Christmas. Come to think of it, we have not gone into debt for anything since our trip to Disneyland two years ago. So much ahs changed since then, all for the better. It's so great to think that all of this is ours, and we do not owe anyone for it! It really was a great Christmas. Scotlyn is showing off one of the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" Books that she got for Christmas.

Mason is such a truck boy.

And here Ivy is showing off one of her Zhu-zhu pets.

My family came over for breakfast, as always, quiche, which is so so yummy. I look forward to breakfast, almost as much as I do opening presents.

I could not believe what nice weather we had for Christmas day. The kids were so excited to try out their new bikes. It sure was not a white Christmas this year, but the very next day, we had a pretty big snowstorm.

I even took a picture of the Daffodils poking through the ground. The weather was unusually warm the week before Christmas.

I think every year I understand more and more of what the Savior did for mankind. It really is not all about what we get, but what we can give. Mike gave a wonderful talk the week before Christmas in church. He talked about the homeless shelter that is down the street from where he works. Each year, his company has a donation drive to collect things for the homeless shelter. Last year, he walked down there with a few people that he works with to make a donation. He was heart-broken when he saw all of the children with their moms, but very few dads there. He thought about our three children, and how he would do anything for them. Then he talked about the Savior and how if he were to come to downtown Salt Lake, he would not be found at the Gateway, but that he would be in the homeless shelter serving those people there. It really touched my heart and I have thought about it so much since then. That is what the Savior would have us do, is serving those around us.
