My Junie B. Jones Girl

It's hard for me to believe that Scotlyn is starting 1st grade tomorrow. Luckily, her teacher is our backyard neighbor, and is so amazing. I'm really excited that Scotlyn will be in her class this year. It's amazing to me that last year at this time, Scotlyn was just learning how to read a few small words, and now she is reading Junie B. Jones. We have found several of these books this year at garage sales. I think she just about has most of them. Tonight she finished the one she is reading in this picture, "Junie B. Jones, First Grader, At Last". She was really excited because that will be her tomorrow, a First Grader At Last!

I can't believe they grow up so fast! Lukas startes kindergarden in a few weeks and it's all day. I cried at least 3 times last week! It's hard to let them grow up!

First Grade is my fav. I loved teaching that grade because there is so much learning in that time of their little life! Junie.... love her!

that's so sweet! Morgan was up at 6:30 this morning getting ready and making her "lunch". (i'm not really sure she even went to sleep last night) Good luck today scotlyn :)

These photos were taken about a month ago. The snow is now all gone, Yeah! I tried to shovel a path through the snow so the kids could get to the playset to play. When Mason saw what I was doing, he immediatley took over shoveling. He shoveled for at least an hour, piling snow into the grey bucket. If the girls even tried to have a turn, he let them know it was his shovel. I'm sure he felt like he was a backhoe, moving dirt. That is his dream job.

Scotlyn's Birthday Party

Scotlyn's birthday is this coming Thursday, but because her birthday always falls around General Conference time, we try to have her party the week before conference. She has been counting down the days until her party all week. It was a lot of fun, and was so nice to have her party outside this year. Every year on her birthday, the weather has been cold, until this year. This is a picture of her a couple of days ago, when she decided she was going to build a hot air balloon and fly to Salt Lake. She packed a change of clothes in her backpack and took food with her in the box. She also had a few toys with her, but when she was ready to fly, she realized that there was not room for her to sit in the box. She kept saying to me, "Mom, this is really going to work. I'm going to Salt Lake, I'll be back later". It was too cute. She never did make it to Salt Lake, but she didn't seem too disappointed that she didn't fly. I love how at this age, they lo...
