Gingerbread House

Image
The kids put together gingerbread houses this weekend.  The one in the front had a  hard time staying together, so I named it the "This is 2020" House.

Solar Panels

The day before Thanksgiving, we had solar panels installed.  We are excited to have them and hopefully help save on our power bill.  There is also a 25% tax credit for getting them installed, so that will help.

Thanksgiving 200

Image
It was a different Thanksgiving this year.  We stayed home with just our family.  COVID-19 keeps spreading, and we felt it was best that we stay home this year.  The day before Thanksgiving, the girls and I made pies (pumpkin & banana cream), rolls, and stuffing.  The next morning, Mike and Mason made the turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy.  The turkey was amazing, along with everything else.  So yummy!  We also had our neighbors dogs over as they left town, so they were our Thanksgiving guests!

Mindfulness Class

Image
In September ( on my birthday, actually, the 29th) I started a Mindfulness class at the Davis Mindfulness center.  I have seen this class advertised many, many times over the past several years.  They always advertise it through the school district.  It is usually $250 to take, so I have never signed up for it.  But, this year, probably due to COVID-19, it was free.  I signed up to take it with my new friend, Becca Williams who I met this summer after her family moved into our ward.  I have really gotten to know Becca well as we have ben walking together a lot, at least we were until the weather got colder, and COVID started going around like crazy.  It was such an amazing class.  I loved it so much.  I learned about living more in the moment, and enjoying life more.  What an amazing journey this class was, and will continue to be in my life.  We had our last class this past Tuesday.  We met every Tuesday morning from 9:...

New Fridge

Image
We have needed a new fridge for a while now.  Our old fridge has been leaking water from the bottom for several months.  It does not happen all of the time, and so we have put it off for over a year.  We finally decided it was time.  This new fridge is a lot bigger than our old one.  Since our old one still works, we put it out in our garage as our "drink" fridge.  We think the water was leaking out of the line that ran to the ice maker, so since there is no ice maker line outside, it shouldn't leak, hopefully, but if it does, it is better for it to leak outside rather than inside.  It has already warped our wood floor.  Someday we will replace for floor and remodel the kitchen. As for right now, I am really excited about our new fridge!   Instead of having a waterline on the outside of the fridge to get drinking water out of, it is on the inside of the fridge.  I had never seen one like this before, but having it inside keeps the w...

Family Pictures 2020

Image
The end of October we had our family pictures take at Beus Pond in Ogden.  It turned out to be a great night for pictures.  We have some friends, the Nutley's who took the pictures.  We also had Scotlyn's senior pictures taken the same night.  I love how they turned out!  This is our "this is 2020" picture.   Since there was a toilet paper shortage when the country went crazy over covid March 2020, Mike thought it would be funny to take a picture of him heading to the bathroom with leaves.  He is right, it is funny!
