Halloween
I thought I would combine all of our Halloween activities together in one post, since it is almost Christmas, and as always, I'm behind in blogging. The weather during October was beautiful. Mason and Ivy were out playing outside in one of the last patches of dirt that we have in our backyard.

We also went to the school carnival. We took our neighbor's kids with us. After, we came home and watched the movie "Haunted Mansion".

Mike's parents came up to visit a couple of days before Halloween. They had a huge pumpkin that they carved out, lined with tin foil and a plastic sack, and filled with candy for all of the grand kids to grab a handful of. It was called "The Great Pumpkin". The kids cousins, Penny & Calvin were also there to share in the fun.

On Halloween day, we went and had breakfast at my parents house. We ate orange pancakes, among other things.
Here are our kids with their cousin, Emmett.

Because Halloween fell on Sunday this year, the kids went trick or treating on Saturday. Mike took them out this year, and I stayed home and handed out candy.

After the kids ate a few pieces of candy, the rest was put in a bowl and left on the table for the great pumpkin. The great pumpkin visits our house on Halloween night, and replaces their candy with a toy. The kids were excited to see what the great pumpkin left. Scotlyn & Ivy both got new games for their Leapsters, and Mason got $5.00 which he used to buy some new matchbox cars.
