Fire Station Tour

When my kids go off track, I really try to do some fun things with them. Our summer comes in little chunks here and there, instead of one long three month period. So, I scheduled a tour of the fire station. My friend Stephanie and her son came alone too. It was so much fun. Mason just thought it was the greatest thing in the world. Why can't church be as exciting to him as the fire station? Every time we drive by the fire station now, Mason will tell me all about the tour we took and I'll say "what was the name of the firefighter?" His reply is "Fire fighter Michael". I don't think he will ever forget that.






I was watching my nephew that day too. After the tour, the fire fighter turned on the sirens. Emmett, was not too happy about that. I felt really bad. I have forgotten so quickly what it was like to have a baby around. Emmett just turned one last month.

Scotlyn's Birthday Party

Scotlyn's birthday is this coming Thursday, but because her birthday always falls around General Conference time, we try to have her party the week before conference. She has been counting down the days until her party all week. It was a lot of fun, and was so nice to have her party outside this year. Every year on her birthday, the weather has been cold, until this year. This is a picture of her a couple of days ago, when she decided she was going to build a hot air balloon and fly to Salt Lake. She packed a change of clothes in her backpack and took food with her in the box. She also had a few toys with her, but when she was ready to fly, she realized that there was not room for her to sit in the box. She kept saying to me, "Mom, this is really going to work.
