Dinner at the Oaks

In August, we went out to eat at "The Oaks", which is a fabulous restaurant in Ogden Canyon. Mike's parents, my parents, Mike's Grandma and his aunt and uncle came too. It was a beautiful night. We ended up waiting for at least an hour for a table, and my kids thought they were going to starve to death, but if there is a place to wait for a table, The Oaks is it. They have a beautiful deck outside with lots of waiting space.

When we were finally seated, we had a table outside, on the patio. The restaurant is right along the Ogden Canyon River. It was one of those nights that will be burned in my memory forever as a perfect moment. When it was time to go, Mike's Grandma said, "It can't be time to go yet, I don't want this night to end". That is just how I felt. A night with family in the most beautiful of settings is pretty much perfect. If it can get this good in this world, I can't even begin to imagine what the celestial kingdom must be like!

My kids were amazed at a spider web. They sat and watched the spider catch a bug in it's web.

That does sound heavenly! By the looks of the blue cups, though... it appears they serve Pepsi products and not Coke. *shrug* Maybe terrestrial... LOL!

The way you described it makes me wish so much to be there with you. It sounds like a perfect night! I love those moments that are burned away in our memories that we can reflect back on over and over again.
