Vernal Trip
I am so far behind, this is killing me. I need to just take some time a get caught up!
In April, we took a two day trip to Vernal, Utah. I have always wanted to go there. We really had a great time. Mike's mom and dad also went with us. It snowed almost the whole way there, and we wondered what the weather would be like. It turned out really good! We went to the Utah Field House Museum right after we arrived there. We left our house at around 4:30 in the morning, so by the time we got there, it was just after 9:00.

We went on three different hikes. They were so pretty, and the weather really could not have been better.

It was so neat seeing all of the writing on the walls, and thinking about what kind of people they were who left their history on these walls. It really was amazing.

Scotlyn, Ivy and Mason were all sworn in as Junior Rangers and Junior Paleontologists at the Visitors Center at the Dinosaur National Monument.

Ivy is pointing at a dinosaur bone sticking out the wall on one of the hikes we went on.

We really had a great time. It seemed like a long trip, but we were only there for a day and a half. Scotlyn now wants to be a paleontologist when she grows up. Right after we got home, she put on her backpack, got a shovel and went outside in search of dinosaur bones. She even said she would rather go back to Vernal than to Disneyland. The trip made quite the impression on her!
