The kids and I have been watching this latest snow storm all day today. It has now stopped, and has, yet again this year, made the earth white. I love the way it looks right after the snow has stopped. It really is beautiful. I can't remember the last year when we have had so much snow. We really do need it! I'm really trying to be more positive, and as my husband has taught me, you can always find the good in any situation.
Today, many of us are reflecting upon the life of Gordon B. Hinckley, who passed away last night. We were at my parents house, when my sister, who lives in California called us with the news. I think we all knew that because of his age, that he could pass on at any time. But, I must admit it came as a shock to me. I think it is because he seemed like he could live forever. He had done so much in the last 13 years as the President of the Church, and to think he was in his 80's when he was sustained, it just amazes me. What an incredible man he was. I find myself thinking that I want to be more like him. He had such a wonderful sense of humor, and he never took things too seriously. He was a man who lived his life as close to the Savior's as possible. But, he was that, just a man. I'm grateful for the church, and for his example.
